How to not suffer wearing a wig :'(

Do you have any tips to wear a wig for many hours straight, without making it hurt your head? After a few hours I always have headhache. I always tie the elastic band on the back, otherwise I feel it moving. What about using bobby pin and not tying the elastic? Anyone doing this?
