Most first-time business owners have no idea what they're doing
The truth is that many people who start a business have very little knowledge about the day-to-day of running a business (that should make you feel better). In a recent survey we ran, we found out that 91% out of 1,000 entrepreneurs were first-time business owners, not seasoned business owners running their third company. These are small business owners figuring out pricing for the first time, building up their customer base, learning what an EIN is, and Googling questions that are easy to assume every other business owner somehow already knows.
What we found even more interesting is that despite navigating completely new territory, 62% of first-time founders said they feel confident. Another 25% admitted they're overwhelmed. TBH, both seem like pretty reasonable answers. 😅
So, let's make this thread useful for the people doing it for the first time: Experienced business owners: what's one thing you wish someone had told you when you were starting your first business? It can be some encouragement, a piece of good advice, or a mistake you wish you hadn't made.
First-timers: feel free to drop the question you've been too embarrassed to ask.
