Would you bid on a Japanese import with a 3.5 auction grade?

I’ve got my eye on a Japanese-delivered Serena that’s showing as a 3.5 on the auction sheet, with around 100,000 km and a few interior marks. The photos look pretty ordinary, but I keep seeing people treat anything under a 4 like it’s automatically rough. Is a 3.5 usually a fair description of an honest used car, or would you leave it alone?
