Do you have recommendations on quiet restaurants?

It doesn't seem to matter the quality of restaurant, there is blasting music, which makes everyone talk louder.

I (44F) have a hard time paying attention to conversations, and sometimes if I can't see someone's mouth, I can't understand them, either.

Does anyone have recommendations of restaurants in LA/LA County that are quieter? Anyone know of good places to have a meal and actually be able to hold a conversation?
