stuff some riders think is normal but makes drivers uncomfortable
Let’s go over the obvious - smoking, vaping, loud music
Not having your feet on the curb BEFORE you place your order - If I do 50 rides a day and for each ride I’m waiting 90 seconds (technically a rider can wait up to 2 minutes for free) for each rider, that’s over an hour wasted
Asking the driver to say your name. If I say the passengers name, the passenger can just say yes even if he didn’t place the order. Now that passenger just stole somebody else’s uber ride. The real person who ordered the ride will contact support and now support will ask me why did you drive off and start the ride when the passenger wasn’t there?
Also, the ONLY thing we have about you is your first name (it may not be your first name because riders can type whatever they want in the name field). We have to go through background checks and selfie verification every couple days. You know our legal name, our car make, our license plate number, etc. Also my back is turned away from you during the drive so you could just attack me. Unless you’re legally blind, this say my name thing is a terrible way for riders to approach drivers. Consider using a PIN. With a PIN, we can’t start the ride unless we type in the PIN. If the wrong passenger gets in the car, there’s a 9,999/10,000 chance that the ride won’t be able to start.
