Skoda Kushaq 1.0L TSI sudden EPC, Check Engine, severe 3-cylinder shaking & limp mode—Need advice
Hey everyone, looking for some insights or similar experiences from fellow Kushaq owners.
Today while driving and applying throttle under load, my Skoda Kushaq 1.0L TSI suddenly threw an EPC light and a Check Engine (MIL) light, accompanied by an "Auto Start-Stop Error" on the cluster.
The symptoms are severe:
Violent engine shaking/vibration at idle (feels like it dropped to 2 cylinders).
Dead throttle response (complete loss of accelerator pedal authority / limp mode).
A noticeable metallic rattling / loose wire sound coming from the engine bay upon starting.
I already tried the basics (opened the fuel tank cap to release any vacuum pressure, but no change). I’m currently arranging flatbed towing to the service center.
For those who have experienced this or have technical knowledge:
- What was the exact root cause in your case? (Faulty ignition coil, spark plug, rodent damage to the wiring loom, or turbo wastegate issue?)
- If it turns out to be a coil or sensor failure, is it typically covered under standard warranty?
- Any specific things I should warn or instruct the service advisor to check when it lands at the workshop?
Thanks in advance for any help!
