Entrepreneurs should use AI to strengthen entry level workers, not eliminate them
I saw research showing that workers in their 40s, 50s and 60s are more positive about AI than younger workers, and with the way everything has gone as of now it makes sense.
More experienced employees already have years of knowledge and professional relationships behind them so AI can help them move faster and get more value out of skills they already developed. But younger workers are in a very different position because many of the tasks AI is starting to handle are the same entry level tasks people traditionally used to get their foot in the door.
For entrepreneurs, there is obviously a temptation to look at AI as a way to operate with fewer employees and lower costs, especially when every dollar matters in the early stages of a business. But if companies automate every entry level responsibility, where do the next generation of experienced employees, managers and founders come from?
The better opportunity is to hire talented young people and give them AI tools that allow them to contribute at a much higher level, much earlier in their careers. That gives a growing business more leverage without removing the pipeline of people who still need an opportunity to learn.
