I have a lot of retro (80's) toys/etc that i am looking to sell, is ebay still a bit hit am miss to use?

As title really. I am hitting the big Five-0 soon and have recently needed to move all of my old toys and stuff from the parents loft (yes they have been sitting in there for a LONG time)

I have very little need to keep them, they are cluttering up the loft and in all honesty if i don't sell them then they will just end up being left there and dumped when Mr G Reaper pops over for a brew and a chat in hopefully a long time.

I don't want any shenanigans such as 'not as advertised' and then ebay refunds the buyer, they keep the item and i will gently fume, especially over a 40 year old He-man Character or transformer (or Go-Bot!) that may not be mint but still usable.

Also i dont want sillyness as i have had from ebay where a £30 item with postage ends up putting a pittance into my account due to fees/etc.

So is ebay the way to go or any other recommendations on how to sell on a large number of items.

thanks
