1 year sober!

September 6, 2025 was my last drink.

Came off of 12-15+ alc units per session, 2-5 nights per week depending on the year. ~10 years wasted drinking alone at home 99% of the time. Just shuffling from a jobs I hated - to the beer store - to my apartment to get blasted playing pc games and watching youtube before i'd vomit and pass out. That is ALL I lived for for years, stagnant. What a life. The writing was on the wall that I was going nowhere but an early grave either through liver failure or suicide, completely alone.

That was me as recently as 2022 and a bit into 2023. Still took me 2 years into 2025 to fully wind down my drinking as I made a series of life changing decisions for the better. Boy am I glad I did! Now ive got a wife, baby, mortgage, no credit card debt, and retirement savings. I did NOT think these things were possible just a few years ago. Yes I wasted 2015-2023, but that shit is behind me now.

Staying sober, even though a part of me still SOMEHOW wants to drink again despite all the issues it caused.
