What is going on with youtube "view" counts?

So I was just checking stats for a recent video and I saw that over the weekend, the view count had about doubled. But during the same time, the view time had been basically completely flat. So..if people didn't actually view any of my video, what are they actually counting? Is "views" just a completely useless stat now (apparently they changed how it was counted recently)?

Anyone else seeing this?
