How to Skybreaker aggressively?

Questions & Advice

Likely because I have a background in RPG LARPs where the DMs pull no punches and encourage players to bring their A-Game to any fight, I built a skybreaker with a mind toward hitting fast and hitting hard, but somewhat balanced it by only having so-so physical stats (a 2 in strength, 0 in speed), and a starting path built around utility rather than combat (Strategist). Even so, as our most recent session of the Stone Walkers campaign concluded, and our group fought our first Fused, I feel as though I want to throw my DM a bone and scale back how much Sky that I Break in this game.

First turn, on a round where I am partially surprised (one person managed to pass their perception check, and shouted a verbal warning, which we justified as allowing a full breath of stormlight, but still having the other penalties of surprise for the group) I grab the boss fused and float them 40 feet into the sky. Second round, I fly-attack, Division, and attack....and the boss is dead. Got an opportunity on raising the stakes, so my division hit from max damage of 31. The DM sighed and said, "I'm going going to need to figure out how to handle you using division..."

I'm starting to see that I should scale back how much I dominate fights in this game, for the good of group enjoyment and RP. One way I think I could do that is perhaps using less direct-damage applications with Division, and instead more creative applications like creating dust clouds out of destroyed surroundings or attempting to destroy mundane weapons/armor of foes. Does anyone have some other ideas for how I can contribute in combat without outright destroying the challenge? I knew skybreaker would be strong when I chose this path, but I never anticipated it would be THIS strong!
