Non Maharashtrian but marathi

महाराष्ट्राला विचारा (Ask Maharashtra)

I’m from Karnataka, but I speak Marathi. I may not speak it fluently or perfectly, and because of that, I’ve sometimes faced embarrassment and disrespect at work. Honestly, it hurts a lot and makes me feel really bad. 💔

I just have one heartfelt request — if you meet someone speaking Marathi, please encourage them instead of making them feel ashamed of their language or the way they speak. ❤️

There are so many Marathi-speaking people living outside Maharashtra who keep the language alive with a lot of love and pride. We may live in different states, have different accents, or not speak Marathi perfectly, but our connection with the language is still very real and emotional. 🥹

So, when someone speaks Marathi, please welcome them with an open heart. Appreciate their effort. Encourage them. Make them feel like they belong. Even a few kind words can make someone feel respected, accepted, and proud of their roots.

Marathi isn’t limited to Maharashtra. Marathi lives wherever Marathi people carry it with love. ❤️

Let’s not make anyone feel ashamed of speaking their mother tongue. Instead, let’s make them feel proud of it.

Because sometimes, all someone needs isn’t correction — just a little encouragement, kindness, and acceptance. 🙏❤️🚩
