My young neighbour A and I have been involved with each other for a while.

On the day of Dahi Handi, we were downstairs waiting for the handi to be broken. I made eye contact with A and then turned around and went upstairs. He followed me.

We ended up stopping on the stairs and kissed. It was the third time we had done something like this, so it felt less risky. Once we were done, I told him to go back down using the stairs while I would take the lift from my floor.

When I reached the lift, A's father was standing there.

I was terrified at first. What if he had seen what I was up to? And even if he hadn't, he would surely ask why I had come up from the stairs and was now taking the lift back down. I had absolutely no idea what I would have said.

Thankfully, he didn't ask anything.

That night, though, he WhatsApped me.

He asked me if I was having an affair with a guy from the floor below.

I almost laughed.

The irony was unbelievable. He had somehow guessed that I was involved with someone, but had guessed the wrong person.

I denied it, of course. But he kept questioning me.

And then he started flirting with me.

That night, we ended up chatting until early morning, especially because he knew my husband wasn't home. Then he asked me to delete his messages, saying, "What if bhai saheb sees it?" I did.

Since then, he has become more and more comfortable flirting with me. And strangely, I don't stop him anymore.

I don't even know whether I'm enjoying the attention, curious about where this could go, or simply getting carried away by the absurdity of the situation.

The father of the guy I'm having an affair with is flirting with me
