Is a bank teller postion a good way to start out with an Econ degree?

Job searching

I'm 24 and recently graduated from the University of Connecticut and want to become a financial advisor. Because the job market is tough and my resume only consists of swim instructor jobs, I thought it would make sense to at least transition my resume into finance by becoming a teller until I can find a better opportunity. I just got a call from Citi Bank about one of the applications I put in for a Universal Banker, and they want me to interview with them tomorrow.

I see a lot of people saying this is a dead-end trap and isn't good for my goal of becoming an advisor. Im also currently studying for the SIE.

What do you guys think? Is becoming a bank teller a decent move until I can find something better, or should I just stick with my swim instructor jobs?
