What are my options here?

Hi everyone! I need advice. So me and my husband have been separated for more than a year. I've tried to reconcile with him but so far haven't been successful. Last year he tried to annul the marriage but it never happened because lied about the reason and I refused as well. Then in the court docs, he agreed for separation and that he would file divorce afterwards. It's been more than a year at this point, about 16 months or so. I've heard nothing from him. I had asked the lawyer who assisted me last year about what my options are and he said we need to attend a case conference since he didn't agree to one of the two claims I had asked him for. At this point I'm willing to accept the one claim that I had asked for. Is there a way to get out of a case conference? Personally I'm not interested in going to court for this. If we do have to divorce, I would rather just get the claim I asked for (which he agreed to) and sign the papers. Also, the lawyer said one of us needs to file for divorce. We don't have shared property or assets or kids. Would it be advisable for me to ask my husband if we file the divorce jointly? I don't have a job so I can't afford lawyer fees or court fees. We're based in Ontario, Canada.
