I'm so tired of remakes and rereleases

I'm happy for people who haven't played Ocarina of Time before, don't get me wrong. But it's just.... It all feels so lazy and uncreative. They could have made a new game, but instead, like every major ip's anniversary recently, we're either given rereleases of games that already exist, remakes of games that end up losing their style in the new coat of paint (STAR FOX COUGH COUGH), with zero effort to innovate and build something truly unique.

It's like if Donkey Kong Bananza was just Donkey Kong Country with "2013 nintendo hire this man" realistic shaders applied. THIS is what 40 years have led to? Not a new breakthrough in the formula, not an attempt to build on the ip, but a cheap "play the game you've already played for $80 more"?

In my opinion (and I know people will disagree and that's fine), Ocarina of Time Remake does not feel like a celebratory thing, it feels like a regression.

Much like with Star Fox, we're treading old ground. We may be wearing new, fancy, golden cowboy boots now, but the grass is still worn down and the sights haven't changed.
