Last session my therapist retouched a recent trauma I shared. Of course I went into an anxiety attack and could not see it any other way.

Question

I recently shared a trauma that ended in nervous system failure/dissociation in session. The next session she asked permission if she could bring it up again, I said yes. So she proceeded.

The trauma has to do with a lot of guilt that I carry. I feel completely like it is my fault.

I'm in CBT so of course she was trying to reason with me and change my point of view but I kept taking it back to how it's my fault. I just can't see it any other way. This trauma affects me so deeply and it's constantly in my mind almost 24/7.

Am I forever going to be stuck in this loop because I feel so strongly about it??? I feel so hopeless
