Quick condensation from today's Prep Desk brief.

1. Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI)

DoT now classifies suspected mobile numbers as medium, high or very high fraud risks and shares the signals with banks and payment providers. Trap: a risk flag is not a judicial finding of guilt.

2. India-Japan forestry roadmap

Both countries endorsed a 2027-2031 cooperation roadmap covering trees outside forests, forest genetics and assessment technologies. Trap: tree cover and TOF are different FSI categories.

3. Swachh Vayu Survekshan 2026

MoEFCC's clean-air implementation assessment covered 130 cities; Lucknow, Rourkela and Kalinganagar topped the large, medium and small categories. It ranks implementation, not measured pollution, and is distinct from Swachh Survekshan.

4. Bi-layered dental implants

ARCI, a DST institute, bonded a titanium-alloy load-bearing region with a zirconia ceramic crown region using Spark Plasma Sintering. Trap: zirconia is zirconium oxide, a ceramic, not metallic zirconium.

5. NDRF and collapsed-structure rescue

The National Disaster Response Force is constituted under Section 44 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and handles natural and human-induced disasters including CBRN emergencies. Classic trap: NDRF the Force (Section 44) vs NDRF the Fund (Section 46).

6. Kailash-Manasarovar routes

The MEA-organised yatra crosses Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand or Nathu La Pass in Sikkim; the destination itself lies in Tibet. Trap: Manasarovar and Rakshas Tal are separate lakes.

7. Anganwadi accountability (GS2, Mains)

Poshan Maah 2026 pushes community ownership of Anganwadi centres, but the real question is delivery: displayed menus, working committees and grievance redressal versus dashboard counts. Answer angle: NFSA 2013 makes Anganwadi nutrition a statutory entitlement, so accountability is a legal duty.

Discussion: Should banks be allowed to delay a transaction based only on a DoT fraud-risk flag, or does that shift the burden onto the customer?
