my cats' food obsession is lowkey ruining my life- do they ever grow out of it?

Behavioral

i have two male cats- one is approximately 1 1/2yr and the other just turned 2. both are neutered and have no health issues such as hyperthroid or diabetes

they are both INSANE about food. their automatic feeder dispenses dry food at 3am, 7am, 12pm, and 8pm. i feed them both a portion of wet food at 4pm. they are NOT hungry!

if i want to cook or eat food in peace, i have to lock them up in a room or lock myself in a room. my dog has to eat her meals locked in a room so they don't steal her food. i cannot leave food or anything even food adjacent on a surface they can access or they'll get into it. they knock over the trashcan if there is something in there they're interested in. if i leave dirty (BUT RINSED) dishes in the sink, they will both climb into the sink to lick the dishes. as we speak, my dinner is cooking in a crockpot in my BATHROOM because i can't leave the crockpot out where they can get it. (and my bathroom door is the only door in my house that shuts all the way).

does anyone else have experience with cats this insane about food??? is this an age thing and is there any chance that they'll just grow out of it? i love my cats to death but this honestly is a massive impact to my quality of life. just asking for advice or any insight that anyone can offer
