AIMA won’t tell us where our residency card is.
Posting this in case anyone has gone through something similar and/or might have some advice.
We had our Artigo 15 residency card appointment in May, since then I have been tracking the status in their new AIMA Contacte-nos “estado do meu caso” feature, and as of a couple of weeks it updated to Cartão Entregue (card delivered), but delivered where? Nobody knows.
There have been no delivery attempts of at our address, so I assumed the tracking system was bugged, however our lawyer believes the card might be in the office where we did our appointment, but I don’t remember that ever happening to people here. The office is not close to us, and I’d have to take time off work to make the trip out there.
I called AIMA and they confirmed the card had been produced but had no idea where it might be delivered to. Completely insane, I know!
Unfortunately Artigo 15 cards don’t have a tracking number, yet another AIMA feature that makes zero sense.
If anyone has gone through something similar, I’d love to hear how it got resolved. I feel like people here mostly experience having their cards delivered at home, and we went through so much trouble getting that rental contract in time for the appointment.
Thank you
