Considering divorce but no idea where to start

Location: New Jersey, USA

Hi there. Unsure if I’m going to pursue just considering right now. My questions are:

1. What am I looking for in a divorce lawyer?
2. Average cost?
3. Recommendations in starting the search

I have 2 kids and they’re young. We own a house together. Not much debt other than my student loans. I just want to be as amicable as possible although I know very difficult.

Just curious and I hate that I’m asking but I feel so lost right now. Thank you for any advice.
