Vat duty, paying the government?

Dose anybody else feel like they just don't want to buy anything like new shoes clothes fuel, car servicing everyday life costs because the government gets their slice

If you do buy something let's say it's beans the principal it's probably the cheapest food you can get and other VAT free foods that exists out there.. I've found myself not buying things I want because I don't want my money going towards VAT

Especially fuel, oil tyres holidays

I feel like we're absolutely getting shafted

And nobody is doing anything about it
