Animalistic perception of the world – has anyone experience that

General ✨

I have not met anyone nor read from anyone that would respond with a "I get exactly what you mean" and without trivializing / "trying to be smart about it". I am just curious if there is "anyone" who can relate –really. And in the face of person-world being a sort-of-illusion this attempt is not exactly coherent- I just reached a dead-end for myself (I guess).

Let me briefly describe: An instance in which I see the world (and myself) in an ultimately animalistic / primal sense. To be fair- it is less "I see the world as ..." and more "This IS the world" (as with transcendental, typical spiritual experiences that I am aware of) and at the very least "This is the "primal" part of my brain being active / ". It has/had an almost ancient-feeling touch to it. A person on the other side of the street yelling is NOT that- it is an _animal_ making -aggressive- animal noise. Moreover: I, as a creature/animal, am susceptible to threat/danger/death in an _immediate_ sense- there is no hypotheticals anymore- it IS REAL. And again, it has this "ancient" touch to it- as if I am entering something that is so much older than myself. (and needless to say it is scary/horrifying yet utterly captivating).

The closest thing Chat GPT gave me was: Georges Bataille:
"The State of Animality

  • Immediacy: Animals live "like water in water," meaning they do not separate themselves from their environment.
  • No Subject-Object Divide: An animal does not view itself as an "other" or conceptualize an external world of objects.
  • Immanence: Their existence is characterized by an unbroken continuity with nature, driven by immediate biological needs without abstract self-consciousness."

I am not sure about the "subject-object divide"- as I clearly saw myself as an organism subject to threat - BUT, the words Immediacy and Immanence strike absolute resonance.
It is a sense of everything (i.e. the world) is suddenly REAL, and ACTUALLY THERE.
