Built a quick tool to check if a fare is actually a deal (uses historical pricing, very beta)

Figured the underlying pricing model I'm building might be useful on its own, so bolted a barebones page onto it: Evaluate my fare

You put in a route + date + stops, it gives you an expected fair-price range — either blended with real historical fares for that exact route if there are enough of them, or from a distance-based model if I don't.

Fair warning, it's genuinely v0.1:

  • mostly trained on last-minute-ish fares, so far-out dates are shakier
  • flight duration is usually a rough guess, not real schedule data
  • obscure routes/airlines fall back to a generic baseline
  • round-trip = two one-ways added together, not a real RT fare
  • USD only for now

Built it mostly for myself to sanity-check fares I find, figured others doing the "is this actually cheap" dance might get some use out of it too. Would love feedback on which routes it gets comically wrong — that's the fastest way to find where the model's blind spots are.
