I Tried Hacking My Own Home Network — Here’s What I Found 👀

So I decided to test the security of my own home network as a weekend project. I spun up Kali Linux, ran an Nmap scan, and was shocked at how many open ports I found on devices I completely forgot about — like my old IP camera from 2017.

I used tools like Nikto, Metasploit, and Burp Suite to dig deeper. Spoiler: My “smart” TV was leaking more info than it should have been.

This made me think: How many of us are sitting on vulnerable IoT devices without realizing it?

Have you ever pentested your own home setup? What tools did you use? What did you find? Let’s share methods and surprises — maybe even help others secure their homes better.
