Beat Brencis in one try, but I struggled with Bakir? wat

I think I beat Bakir at level 35 then Brencis at 40, so I didn't get too OP and were using claws exclusively, but I beat Brencis in one try, and beat Bakir after about 10 tries 😂 Did I just get better? 😂
