New laptop for architecture student

I am about to start my first year of uni as an architecture student.
This will be the last time for a while as a student that I have enough money to buy myself a mid range laptop and want to make sure it will be suited to carry me through my course - with 3D rendering software and autoCAD etc
Can anyone recommend one that would be a good start!
