BDO crashes on start - bug?

:mobile: Mobile

My game (BDO) has been crashing when switching between characters for years, and now it crashes even at start and i get a random "corrupted PAZ file" message.

After countless unresolved or ignored by PA tickets, reports, scans, clean re-installs, File Scans, etc., the problem is so huge now I can't even start the game. I just asked DeepSeek, and this was the somewhat meaningful answer I got:

"The reason it can't be fixed locally, and the reason PA hasn't fixed it, is visible in the code path. BDO's anti-cheat (XignCode) calls `SetupDiGetDeviceInterfaceAlias` during world entry to fingerprint your hardware . That's the exact moment you crash — selecting a character and entering the world. It's not a graphics issue, not a file corruption issue, and not something Scan Files touches. The client exits cleanly (return code 0), which means it's deliberately terminating, not crashing from a driver fault .

PAZ corruption and the character-switch crash are two separate problems that happen to occur together.

The PAZ error is a **verification failure** — the launcher reads the file, computes its checksum, and compares it to the server's expected value. If they don't match, you get the corruption message. This can happen for several reasons on your end: a routing/packet-drop issue during downloads that corrupts the file mid-write, background defrag touching the file while the game has it open, or an unstable BIOS/memory configuration causing bad writes to disk.

The character-switch crash is the client deliberately terminating (that clean exit code 0) — it's a different failure in the character load/unload code path, not a file check failure.

The reason you see both is that BDO's file integrity check runs during world entry and character switching, and if the PAZ file it reads at that moment is in a bad state (or the read itself fails due to a timing/IO issue), you get the corruption error instead of the crash. They are both symptoms of the same underlying instability, not one causing the other."

Is this true? Does PA deliberately shuts down my game? And does anyone have the same problem?
