Do you view people who claim to be "spiritual only" (non religious, live and let live) different than those who might try to convert (or proselytize)?

Discussion Question

Or do you also view as both types to be foolish?

I grew up in the deep south in a very Catholic upbringing. Was an altar boy, thought about becoming a priest at an early age, etc. Around 13 or 14 years of age I started to seriously doubt the Bible and if there was a god, but I suppressed those thoughts as "bad, from the evil one".

Then my senior year it all exploded. After some time I landed on a whole other line of thought, and a different way of approaching what one might call spirituality. I don't read the Bible anymore, in fact my practice more aligns with Eastern teachings.

I absolutely believe atheism as needed in the world, and definitely has its place for many people. It is by no means viewed in my world of spirituality as bad at all.

Do you view people who try to convert, proselytize, or preach as different than a person of what I just described?

I do find atheism fascinating, btw. And if you have questions for me, ask, but again, I come from just "exchange information and learn" perspective, and will try to keep it at a minimum. Thanks.
