Last night I was taken by surprise when my SAS suddenly stopped responding. Trying to restart apps would only make them crash, although some like jellyfin seemed to work just fine (navigating the ui, didnt try to playback).

So I tried to restar my NAS. Then it took ages to reboot. ix-zfs-services didnt start on time and boot only started after the limit of 15m. When it booted, it couldnt import my storage pool correctly and pool.import\_on\_boot job was stuck at 0%. The pool appeared on the UI, appeared online with zpool status storage but i couldnt access any file with smb share and one of the datasets (media) was giving an error:

>!CriticalSMB shares have path-related configuration issues that may impact service stability: media-storage: ACL type mismatch with child mountpoint at /mnt/storage/game-storage: storage - POSIX, storage/game-storage - NFSV4, media-storage: ACL type mismatch with child mountpoint at /mnt/storage/storage-share: storage - POSIX, storage/storage-share - NFSV4, media-storage: ACL type mismatch with child mountpoint at /mnt/storage/sync-storage: storage - POSIX, storage/sync-storage - NFSV4, media-storage: ACL type mismatch with child mountpoint at /mnt/storage/lcs-storage: storage - POSIX, storage/lcs-storage - NFSV4, media-storage: ACL type mismatch with child mountpoint at /mnt/storage/storage-hidden: storage - POSIX, storage/storage-hidden - NFSV4, media-storage: ACL type mismatch with child mountpoint at /mnt/storage/photos-storage: storage - POSIX, storage/photos-storage - NFSV4!<

Whenever I clicked on this dataset on the ui it also gave error related to couldnt properly load ACL and group/user quota.

I tried many things, setting ACL, zfs set quota=none storage, zfs set userquota@root=none storage/media, zfs set groupquota@root=none storage/media, but nothing gave results. Exporting and reimporting also didnt work since pool.import\_on\_boot was stuck and wouldnt finish. I tried turning off the system, hot inserting the drives after booting (this time it went faster) and importing the pool after. but it wouldnt work and the command got stuck. I tried importing as read only and then again, nothing. So I leaved it overnigh and now I woke up to the job having finished after some hours and somethings seems to be working fine, while some other dataset syncthing dont seem to find the folder while I still can access with smb. YEAH (not great, but not bad neither since I have other backups for those). Now, I want to know what caused it, and am afraid to restart the system!

Weird behavior:

\- Since it finished the job, the dashbord wont show cpu and memory usage.

\- This one I noticed some days ago, but could find a reason why: I'm using the famous ARR to create hardlinks between what I download and the jellyfin media folder (they are in the same dataset), but I noticed since I started using the ARR to create hardlinks, the Total Space in the pool went bananas. Its a 4x16TB drives, but seems like every hardlink is counting twice. Is that right?

\- This has been happening for some months, but whenever I have too many things writing at once (arr creating hardlink, I moving/copying files, torrent, etc) theres a chance that everything will stop responding and crash (just like what started this problem)

Am still trying to understand if there were damages other than to the ACL.

Any help is very much appreciated!!!
