1.) Purpose Bot (Rick and Morty) - Rick, a genius scientist with a knack for seemingly impossible achievements, creates a fully autonomous and self-aware robot… for the sole purpose of passing butter. Purpose Bot itself falls despondent upon realizing this is only reason it exists.

2 & 3.) Pasta Breaker & Sweet Surrender (Devil May Cry 5) - One of Nero’s Devil Breakers is the Pasta Breaker, a high-tech robotic arm made for the sole purpose of… efficiently eating pasta (to Nico’s credit, she did say she was barely awake at 2 am when she came up with and built it and admits it was a ridiculous idea)

Sweet Surrender is another high-tech robotic arm whose only function is that it vibrates and curls its fingers. It was created as a gift for Nero’s girlfriend Kyrie in order to, quote, “*relieve her tension*.”

3.) Juicero (IRL) - A Wi-Fi connected, incredibly internally complex, $700 machine…created for the sole purpose of squeezing fruit juice packets. Just ignore how the packets can be squeezed far more quickly and efficiently with your own two hands.

Surprising nobody, it was an infamous colossal failure and completely tanked the company.

Comically overengineered solution to an incredibly simple problem or task.
