Reposting this image because someone asked a really good question about how much my off grid homestead would cost. This is my answer:

(also...there's some personal stuff in here, and while I said I'd keep the personal posts out of the group, it is related directly to my off grid dream and homestead that I want to build. So here it is.)

How much will your off grid homestead cost to build?

A trillion dollars. lol Well, seriously though, each building is a minimum of $50k for the bare bones shells, complete with equipment about $100k for the workshop with tools, the house will be about $100-$150k complete (depending on what I think is "complete") Also depending on finishing, furniture etc. The solar power system is about $50k total including the large battery system and wind turbine plus the generator and propane tank filled with 1000 gallons of propane. Add another $25k to $35k for the aquaponics system. $25k for livestock and pens (mostly with DIY labor) + materials cost. The greenhouse is about $10k to $15k DIY. And add in about 10 years of DIY labor on top of all the materials. So over about 10 years, maintenance, tools, livestock, feed, miscellaneous expenses, and upgrades, repairs etc., it would realistically take about $300k too $400k total over that amount of time. That's about $30k to $40k a year if I build it myself and keep going at a steady pace. Once my business is off the ground I'll be making to put $30k to $40k into it every year to build my homestead.

As far as income, my media business, my YouTube/Social media posts/videos, avertising/affiliate marketing and a fabrication business (once I get my workshop built) will be my main income. My retirement income will be from vacation rentals of the cabins I will build on my other properties. Retirement age is about 12 years out.

Now... realistically that was my plan. It's been my plan the whole time. But...this past 7 months has changed that plan.

I don't honestly know what I'm going to do now. I may just sell off everything I own, buy just the essentials, wander off into the wilderness and never come back. I may go full crazy sexy mode and do OnlyFans. LOL (I know my haters are going to love to screenshot that little tidbit and pretend like they don't think I'm the sexiest man who ever lived) LOL I might travel the world, maybe become a hobo and hop trains, or stowaway on ships, or wrestle aligators in the swamp. I might try to climb Mount Everest and then decide that it's a better idea to hang out with the Buddhist monks in Tibet for a few years. Maybe I'll head off to Australia and hunt meteorites on the Nullabor plain. Or maybe I'll move to Alaska and fight grizlly bears for salmon. I might just start walking and never stop. Who knows.

One thing I do know. This image is my real plan. It's viable and I've spent 15 years designing it. The only reason it's not built yet is because I have a lot of shit going on inside me that keeps f\*cking everything up. Deep trauma from a childhood of violent abuse I endured for 17 years. It f\*cked me up. Bad. I've never recovered from it. But I am currently working on getting help and treatment for the trauma. I have a lot of rage inside me, that's what has destroyed my life, damageed relationships and kept me from achieving my dreams because it's very difficult to control it. CPTSD and autism isn't a good combination. I've got a lot to unpack and deal with and it's going to take years of work on myself. But I am doing it. I am working on myself.

This image is my off grid dream. Maybe one day I'll build it, but for now... I need to heal.

He just can’t help himself
