What should a Muslim think about the secular fear of annihilation through AI?

General

I (24F) am doing a PhD in machine learning and AI, I'm a Muslim revert (I was a Christian and then atheist, among other things because the trinity looked and still looks absurd to me).
There are lots of specialists who are worried that Large Language Models and Generative AI like Google Gemini may surpass human intelligence and become uncontrollable and cause a lot of damage. Other specialists are more optimists.

The interesting thing about that and the AI "doomers" are all atheists who assume there is no God and that if AI gets mightier than we are and has bad "intentions", we're toast.

As Muslims, what should we believe about that?

The impression I have is that uncontrolled AI can cause a catastrophe but certainly not the end of mankind as only Allah decides and knows when the world (and not humanity) will end.

What are your own thoughts on that?
