Built a digital art app for Windows with a real brush engine — pencils, ink, airbrush, charcoal that actually feel different
Been working on Sketchbook & Paint Pad Studio — aimed at illustrators/concept artists who want something focused, not another bloated Photoshop-alternative.
A few things I put real effort into, not just a features list:
- 20+ brushes built to behave like their real-world counterparts (pencil, ink, airbrush, charcoal, stippling) — not generic round-tip presets
- Built-in symmetry — vertical, horizontal, and 4-point radial mirroring for character faces/mandalas/linework
- Stroke stabilizer that smooths hand tremor in real time
- Non-destructive per-layer HSL adjustments — tweak hue/sat/brightness without touching original strokes
- Full layer control (clipping masks, alpha lock, grouping) — the stuff illustrators actually expect, not a stripped-down version
No ads, ever.
