Should I do something for his birthday?

I’ve been dating this guy for maybe a month now. We’ve gone on a couple dates. He’s been pretty intentional and constant. All the good things.

Unlucky for me, his birthday is first and it’s coming up. He asked if I would be available that weekend and that he wanted to plan something but he hasn’t been good on picking dates so I volunteered to do something; not necessarily for his birthday but just because.

What should I do? I don’t wanna do too much, and I probably won’t be paying but what should I suggest. I’ll probably get him a small cake to commemorate the day. I also made other plans with my friends the evening of his birthday so something that can be done during the day.
