When watching a series how can you tell the writers have a favourite?

Here are some of my signs:

Never get called out or get any consequences for their actions.

No matter the situation your made to feel sorry for them.

They're treated like a child or delicate object by the story.

They're everywhere regardless if the plot requires them or if they're actually needed.
