Switch probably stolen?

I know this is for employees and I have nothing against any of you but I just need a realistic answer. I believe I left my Nintendo switch in the glovebox of the car I rented in Hawaii. Is there any chance someone would actually put it in the “lost and found”? Or should I give up hope
