Game Window Freezing Yet The Game Is Still Running

I experienced this behavior 2 times when playing Cod BO3 where the game window just freezes at some point with no sign of life, but I can still move around and hear shooting sounds. This doesn't happen on Hyprland for example; only in Niri.

I saw some people suggesting gamescope and ended up with this exact launch option in Steam as a non-steam game (I use BOIII launcher to open the game; not the actual Black Ops 3 exe file):

DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 120 -f --expose-wayland -- %command%

testing this specific launch option shows that the game is running and working fine but I still don't know whether it solved the main issue or not, and tbh I don't wanna get to the last step of an Easter Egg and then the game freeze like the last time 🫠... but I'll test it tonight.

Also, I have Nvidia RTX 3050 so maybe it's also related to nvidia's sht driver support.

If anyone has suggestions on how to fix it and make sure to avoid this issue completely please help me.
