Paul Gascoigne

Gascoigne is unbelievably overrated by the 1980-1990s generation. The way people talked about him you'd think he was Maradona or something. Here's the truth: Gascoigne was avery talented player, as many others are, who had a very good tournament in 1990WC but afterwards was very inconsistent at club level and whose career dwindled away very quickly. He is nowhere near other legends of the time like Papin, Cantona, Bebeto, Shearer, Lineker, Butragueno, Baggio. He is probably around the same level as Suker, maybe lower.
