Cleaning my room: does it reduce entropy?

I was saying something poetic like "what is life but the resistance against the arrow of entropy? therefore, tidying up the house is the highest form of existence". To which she pointed out that I was moving objects from a single pile of junk to their places around the house, this actually _spreading out_ matter.

Is she right? I mean, by my arbitrary socially-derived rules, it is _more_ ordered to have spoons in the kitchen, and a plunger in the bathroom. But in terms of base physical matter, wouldn't it actually be the _thr most_ ordered to have everything lumped in a single pile?

Like, maybe the "highest form of existence" would actually be to dump everything in our house into a giant blender, and make one big sand pile of all pot belongings.

Thoughts?
