Should I text him?

I have been talking to a man for a couple of months. Our career/education/lifestyle/family background is similar.

I grew up in the Middle East as an expat and he grew up in Scotland in an immigrant family. Our home country is the same and so is our mother tongue. When we first talked he said that he is a boring person and even his insta bio said "subpar dude" which he dismissed as being silly. I never found him boring and in fact I enjoyed all of our conversations and I grew to like him. Out of the blue, he said that our personalities and backgrounds are different and we are not a good match.

Actually, I find dating kind of daunting and don't wish to participate in it. Before we talked, I was not on any apps or seeking a match. We crossed paths and I thought that people keep looking for better options and never stop to water what God puts in front of us. And I did see potential in us, common ground plus something new to share.

I was never interested because for economic reasons, I don't need to marry for that. I wanted companionship and I genuinely felt that I could find that in him.

We have both blocked each other after he told me that we are not a good match but I have been very sad since then and I want to reach out but I am scared that he will tell me not to contact him again.
