Just popping in here to say if I can do it, so can you.
Do I think about smoking at times? Yes. But I remind myself how annoyingly difficult it is to stop when I start.
I also feel like I owe it to myself to stay sober. I was a daily smoker for 12 years, starting at 12 years old, and it became a daily habit when I lived in a very weed-friendly town in Oregon.
Felt like everyone, and their parents, smoked weed.
For a long time I thought I would never stop, even though I wanted to.
I'd look at my cat and wonder, this mf doesn't need weed to be happy, why do I?
Well, I'm not a cat, and life can be pretty rough. But then I also looked around myself at other people. Knowing that some, many actually, can go about their days not even thinking about smoking or have a toke occasionally, in moderation, really bugged me. Why can't I be like that?
Anyway, just wanted to say it's been one of the hardest things for me to stick to. Only had two big breaks in the last 12 years: 6 months and 7 months off. Got right back to daily use as soon as I picked it up again.
And yeah, does it seem like it's not that bad? I'm sure you've made excuses in your head like I have.
But remember, you've got to really want to be healthier to make this work.
Peace.
