Do you shop at Farmers Markets?

From the customer turnout at our local Farmers Market, I estimate that about 1% of the population shops there. With the current drive to shop local, I am surprised at the low turnout. Farmers Markets are the epitome of shopping local. So, do you support your local farmers by intentionally shopping at farmers markets? I mean real grocery shopping, not just showing up for the free live music and buying a bar of soap.

For context: My son sells his farm produce at farmers markets. He is on the board and personally visits new vendors to ensure they are growing their own food (grow it, make it or bake it).

If you don’t shop at farmers markets because you are suspicious of vendors reselling bulk produce at a farmers market you should talk to the market manager.

We should all be supporting our small independent farmers. They work really hard for very low pay.
