Advice on a sew-ins with different color/textures

I have always wanted to try a different hair color or curl texture with a sew-in but I have no idea what to ask a stylist for if it doesnt match my natural hair.

For work and gym I often pull my hair back or up out of my face and my leave out covers the tracks but if my leave out doesn't match is my only option to use dye? For a number of reasons I dont want to invest in dying but maybe I'm hoping I'm just unaware of another option that can make the sew-in look more natural?
