The state of our country depresses me

As an Indian, the state of our country depresses me. Especially thinking about how much more we could be if we cared enough and gave it all. We could have much better looking cities, much better traffic management, much better roads and much better work life balance.
I came to the US for 12months for flight training. And i genuinely cannot believe how incompetent our governments are. Yeah people are a part of the problem but it has to start somewhere to enforce the rules.

The cities here makes me so jealous, sometimes I cry just by going out for a walk. Is this that hard to ask for? A walkable footpath without having hear vehicles honking, clean air, and calm beautiful parks and lakes.
Every other street here looks so calm and beautiful, I just find it so depressing that few people get all these and few don’t only because of where you’re born.

I really hope we shift someday but I don’t have a lot of hope. I feel heavy just typing this out.
