Has anyone at BU used off-campus health insurance?
I'm starting at BU this fall, and since I have ongoing prescription needs, I've been looking into off-campus health insurance options.
So far, I've looked at plans from Student Medicover, ISO, DIANins, and a few others. On paper, the coverage looks pretty similar, so I'm more interested in what they're actually like to use in Boston.
I've seen some comments saying that certain plans using the UHC network can be a hassle when it comes to claims or approvals, but I'm not sure whether that's an issue with the network itself or with specific insurance plans.
For anyone at BU who uses an off-campus plan, especially if you need regular prescriptions or ongoing care, what has your experience been like with the provider network, pharmacy coverage, claims, and prior authorizations?
If there are any plans that have been relatively easy to use, or any that you've had bad experiences with, I'd really appreciate hearing about them.
