On Tuesday, I let our dogs outside and about 20 minutes later I found our little Labrador, Sadie, delirious. She was stumbling, walking into walls, and crying loudly. I transported her to the vet immediately and the nearest we could conclude is she had ingested a toxic mushroom. With the recent rains in our area, we have been digging up and disposing of several types lately. At the vet, her heart rate increased to over 200 and when her respiratory rate slowed and became labored, I was brought to the back to sit with her and say goodbye. Much to our relief she began to show some improvement and we were able to transport her to a hospital for further care. Our prayers were definitely answered, we were able to bring her home last night with a prognosis of full recovery, however, the unexpected vet costs left our budget a little short so we are reaching out for help.
