Do fans make unreasonable and hypocritical demands?

Atlus has cited that one of the main reasons for the lack of a playable female main characters as well as same sex romance to be lack of time.

Yet instead of hoping for future games like Persona 6 to have a good amount of development time the entire fanbase acts like starved beasts demanding that games release as soon as possible and then get outraged when Atlus doesn’t add time consuming features.

Am I crazy or does the fanbase act in a way that goes against their interests?
