Guys being desperate for sex before the relationship and suddenly no attention after?

I'm having a hard time with the whiplash.

I have to admit- someone intensely desiring me, is the only way I ever want sex. Once that happens it's very enthusiastic.

It feels like guys will act like that for a month or 2 and then it's good. Honestly to the point where I have to intiate.

Is this normal?
