Trying to optimize defence
Ahead of waivers tomorrow, I'm looking to try and optimize my defence moving forward. I tend to rotate my GK and 4th defender depending on clean sheet odds/matchups. Some weeks I'll play 3 defenders if my 5th mid/3rd fwd has a good matchup (or is on form).
My GKs are currently Sels and Verbruggen. Options for waivers, in my current order of preference, include Hornicek, Suzuki, Petrovic, Tzolakis. I feel I should hold on to Sels, he should be my default starter, and Forest will get the most clean sheets out of those options by the end of the year.
My defenders are currently Van Dijk, Tarkowski, Konsa, Milenkovic, and James. I start the first three every week and rotate Milenkovic or James depending on the matchup. I'm planning on waivering James out this week, Chelsea don't look close to keeping a clean sheet right now and his low xGI as a midfielder hasn't improved. I'm considering either Hall or Muharemovic as replacements. I'm leaning towards the latter, as I like the idea of a high floor rotation option with Milenkovic. Vuskovic is also an option if I were to waiver Verbruggen. I don't want a Brighton or Newcastle (if I waiver in Hornicek) double-up.
Should I change any GKs? Should I keep double Forest defence (GK and Milenkovic), as I've chosen Milenkovic for DEFCONs? I feel he'll be the Lacroix of last year under Glasner. Which defender should I waiver in for James?
Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!
